P.S. She has already been forming 3 or 4 word sentences in Hindi and English (mixed). Such as "Mamma eat mummum khaana" since the past month or so. But now the fact that she has started translating words amongst 3 languages - Konkani, Hindi and English is music to my ears. Touchwood!

Her first Konkani sentence
Little N formed her first sentence in Konkani this evening. She woke up after a 3 hour afternoon nap (which is very rare for her) then insisted on sitting on her high chair and eating 'dadim' and started saying 'Makka stone jaai'. Just like that! Out of the blue! I had to ask her to repeat it almost 10 times before I was convinced that is what she was saying. And then the little smarty translated it for me saying 'Makka stone chahiye' as if mamma couldn't understand what she was asking for :-) I have seen it quite a lot of times now....some nerves in her brain click when she sleeps coz almost every time she gets up from her afternoon nap, she says something so new and marvelous - it makes me proud!

Thats very cute. I'm curious, if you are konkanis, then how come N is also learning hindi words?
Yay! how cute. Kabir has started joining 2 words together like 2 planes, very hot, etc... and then he gets so excited and claps .. really cute to watch them grow.
Priyanka - 'we' are not Konkani's per se. My hubby is Konkani and I am Hindu Punjabi. So I speak Hindi with her and hence the blend of 3 languages.
Jyoti - yes it really is amazing to see these little kiddos join the dots and make sense out of this world we live in. Kinda makes me see this world with their fresh innocent eyes. I love every bit of it!
Hi there. saw ur comment at my blog! just read ur latest post.. love it! .. we face the same issue @ home! i speak marathi n hubby kannada.. n so lil p has picked up all 4 languages now.. kannada, marathi, hindi and english. Its gets really funny at times. Chal, i'll keep dropping by to read some more. n u do the same.
Oh cool, my SIL (couz bro's wife) is also a Hindu Punjabi, and hence my niece speaks 3 languages too. Her 1 single sentence contains a word from each one of the languages, its sounds so cute :)
